The Presidential Scholarship has recently been updated.

The Presidential Scholarship is the most prestigious award at Clarkson College available to four new incoming undergraduate healthcare professional students per academic year. The Presidential Scholarship is a competitive scholarship given to students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement. In addition to being our most academically talented students, Presidential Scholars demonstrate excellence beyond the classroom and are leaders in their schools/workplace, and communities.

Clarkson Regional Health Services is a proud sponsor of the Presidential Scholarship and is committed to supporting the education and professional development of effective and compassionate healthcare leaders.

Scholarship Criteria 

  • Must be a new student at Clarkson College and accepted into an associate or bachelor’s degree program prior to the scholarship application deadline. Students must maintain full-time status each semester.
  • Exceptional academic achievement demonstrated with a 3.75 high school GPA or higher or a 3.5 college transfer GPA or higher. Transcript reviewed.
  • Demonstrates values of compassion and caring through service to others. Applicants must submit a list of service hours completed and one contact person to verify hours if needed.
  • Must list involvement in extracurricular activities, honor societies, professional organizations, etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership through involvement in multiple school, workplace, and/or community activities. List years of contribution and leadership positions held.
  • Applicants must provide two letters of recommendation of their choice.
  • Complete a 500-word essay that includes the following:
    • A brief introduction of who you are to the selection committee.
    • A brief reflection on how you have demonstrated values of compassion and caring through service to others (i.e., community and volunteer work, work/life experience, etc.).
    • A brief description of how your chosen health profession will innovatively contribute to the needs of others.
  • Must maintain a 3.0 GPA each semester, be continuously enrolled as a full-time student each semester, and be in good academic and behavioral standing to continue to receive the scholarship.

Scholarship applications are accepted February 1 – March 1 and must be emailed to the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office at financialaid@clarksoncollege.edu prior to the deadline. Applicants may submit reference letters with the completed scholarship application to financialaid@clarksoncollege.edu or emailed by the requestee to financialaid@clarksoncollege.edu.

Award Amount

A $15,000/year automatically renewable scholarship for four years toward a bachelor’s degree or two years toward an Associate’s degree.
